About Maya

Maya Rodriguez is a groundbreaking electronic music producer and composer from Barcelona, Spain. Blending ambient textures with experimental beats and field recordings, Maya creates immersive sonic landscapes that transport listeners to otherworldly realms.

After studying classical piano and sound engineering, Maya began producing electronic music in 2015. Her debut EP "Digital Dreams" caught the attention of underground music blogs, and she quickly built a devoted following for her unique sound that defies easy categorization.

Maya's latest album "Quantum Echoes" represents her most ambitious work to date, incorporating elements of techno, ambient, and avant-garde composition with themes exploring the relationship between technology and human consciousness.

"I don't want to make music that fits neatly into a playlist algorithm. I want to create experiences that challenge listeners and open new neural pathways."

Interview with Maya

On Creative Process

We sat down with Maya to discuss her creative process, influences, and vision for the future of electronic music.

What's your typical workflow when creating a new track?

I don't really have a fixed process. Sometimes I start with field recordings I've collected, other times with a synth patch or a rhythmic idea. I try to stay open to whatever sparks inspiration. The most important thing for me is to create a sense of atmosphere and emotion first, then build the technical elements around that feeling.

Who are your biggest musical influences?

I draw inspiration from artists like Aphex Twin, Björk, and Brian Eno, but also from classical composers like Debussy and Satie. I'm equally influenced by natural sounds and urban environments. The rhythm of rain on a window or the hum of a city at night can be just as inspiring as another musician's work.

How has your relationship with your audience evolved through Stamp?

Stamp has completely transformed how I connect with listeners. Before, there was this vast distance between me and the people enjoying my music. Now, I can have meaningful conversations with fans, understand what resonates with them, and even collaborate with some incredibly talented listeners who've become friends. The direct support has also given me the financial freedom to take more creative risks.
